SINGING FOR WELLBEING

I run lots of different singing groups for lots of different health conditions. I am a Singing for Parkinson’s Practitioner and run singing sessions in conjunction with Parkinson’s UK in Redditch, Leamington and Hereford. Singing is an amazing activity for combating some of the symptoms of Parkinson’s and has been proven to have positive effects on some of the symptoms. Contact the local Parkinson’s UK branch for more details, or message me directly. https://www.parkinsons.org.uk/ You can have a look at one of my Hereford sessions here, when we were visited by BBC Hereford and Worcester. https://www.facebook.com/bbcherefordandworcester/videos/1824912914247775/

I have been trained by the British Lung Foundation to run singing sessions for people with Chronic Lung Conditions such as COPD. I have set up and run a Lung Health Choir in Redditch, which meets twice a month on a Wednesday afternoon. Singing is great for breathing and posture, and my group have experienced some really positive benefits. See more information about the benefits of singing for breathing conditions here. https://www.blf.org.uk/

Furthermore, I am a trained Singing for the Brain Leader with the Alzheimer’s Society and run the sessions in Evesham and Redditch. Singing is again brilliant at promoting memories and emotions and I have seen fantastic reactions from these sessions. See more information about how singing can help people with Alzheimer’s here. https://www.alzheimers.org.uk/

I also go into numerous nursing and residential homes to provide singing sessions, see details about Remini-SING here https://www.allroundvoices.co.uk/

The All Round Voices Community Choirs, which I have co set up and am co Musical Director of, meet on a Monday evening in Studley, Tuesday afternoon in Bromsgrove and Redditch alternately and Tuesday evening in Feckenham. Singing in a choir is an amazing activity and the wellbeing benefits are clear to see every week! Please see more details of the choirs here https://www.allroundvoices.co.uk/

I am a tutor at the Voice College http://www.thevoice.college/  running a Singing for Health Practitioner Course, and have run various sessions in conjunction with MENCAP for their service users.

I am also Director of a Community Interest Company aiming to bring vocal sessions to marginalised members of society. For more details of this work please follow the link. http://rubyswift.wixsite.com/vocalconnections

I can also provide singing sessions for corporations, as ice breakers or mindfulness sessions with employees. Singing is a great way to encourage team work and team bonding, listening to each other, working together and positive interaction. It is also a great stress reliever and loads of fun. Please message me if you would like more details on what I could do for your company.
